At Rhedyn guest house we are committed to working in a sustainable way.
We comply with the requirements of environmental legislation and approved codes of practice.
We continuously seek to improve our environmental and social performance.
We have had solar thermal heating installed.
We now have an electric car and bike charging station at Rhedyn.
We reduce pollution, emissions and waste.
We have minimised our risks associated with social and environmental issues.
We have been "green" forever - we think it must be something to do with our age! We always recycle and re-use. We have always kept a compost bin both in the house and the garden. We share our plants and seedlings, grow our own vegetables, and only buy local plants. We have always grown flowers to keep our bees happy and butterflies fluttering.
What we are learning now is matching lumens with watts, using solar instead of mains power and electricity instead of petrol.
We are also looking to develop a nature diary to build up a picture of local bio-diversity. We are thinking of encouraging our guests to assist in logging in sightings in and around Rhedyn and also the immediate areas. Photos would be a fabulous by-product.
We belong to Natural Mid Wales an organisation promoting a love of wildlife in Mid Wales.
