Home produce by Rhedyn
We are passionate about locally produced goods.
But what we love doing best is to produce our own. Ciaran is always overbusy in the garden, earthing up potatoes, pricking out seedlings and sowing or planting in the raised beds or polytunnel. Fruit and vegetables such as peppers, chillies, aubergines, that are tender stay in the greenhouse. All the vegetables and salads are picked to use in our menus for that day.
We also like to produce our own marmalades, fruit jams and conserves. Muiread is up early and along to the market to bargain for a case of seasonal fruit. The jams are made that afternoon. When there is a glut of produce Muiread pickles and conserves like crazy.
LLandrindod Wells has the marvellous Vans Good Food Shop which supplies us with any local organic vegetables that we don’t produce ourselves. It is full of jars of spices, shelves of herbal teas and just about any flavour that might take our fancy for a recipe.
